ABOUT US
Welcome to Halinka Paarman Physiotherapy. We are a private physiotherapy practice based in Newlands, Cape Town. We aim to treat all our patients in a holistic manner and use the Biopsychosocial framework when treating our patients. We strive to treat all patients with the utmost compassion and our goal is to get our patients back to their highest level of function – whether that be to be able to return to doing grocery shopping independently or return to a high level of sport. We believe in using an Evidence-Based approach and we consistently attend webinars as well as in-person courses to stay up to date in order to assist our patients in reaching their goals.
Meet Halinka Paarman
Halinka graduated from the University of the Western Cape in 2019. She completed her Community Service year in rural Kwa-Zulu Natal in 2020 and thereafter worked in a private practice in the North-West from 2021. Whilst learning the ropes of private practice, Halinka was eager to improve her skills in thoroughly assessing her patients and her manual therapy skills. In 2022 she started her Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy (also known as OMT – Orthopaedic Manual Therapy) at WITS University. This degree included further studies into anatomy, physiology and pathology.
Whilst Halinka was completing her Postgraduate degree, she moved back to Cape Town where she was born and raised. She continued to work in another private practice in the Southern Suburbs. This gave her the opportunity to work with a bigger team and learn from other experienced physiotherapists as well as work alongside some of the most experienced surgeons and allied healthcare professionals in Cape Town.

Halinka has a special interest in back and neck pain, headaches, Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) pathology and concussions. In her spare time, Halinka loves attending functional training classes, hiking and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Halinka has completed various clinical and ethical courses and is a compliant HPCSA practitioner. Some of the courses she has attended include:
